From the proceeds raised through the Cleaning
Show, the BCC is able to sponsor its members for award ceremonies,
publications, and industry related initiatives. Some
of the sponsorship and publications are shown below. For further
information on any of these please see websites of corresponding
members.
ENCAMS
Three publications have been commissioned looking at issues affecting
our environment including the role of the cleaner and teenage litter
culprits. The publications are `Broken Windows in the Big Brother
House`; `From Zero to Hero`; and `I`m just a Teenage Dirtbag Baby`.
Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners
The BCC is one of the sponsors of the annual 'Building Cleanability
Awards' which recognises the efforts of architects who design buildings
with cleaning needs in mind.
Cleaning and Support Services Association
CSSA helps to organise the annual Golden Service Awards held in
London's Royal Lancaster Hotel. The awards are known as the 'Oscars of
the cleaning industry' and reward contract cleaning companies in all
sectors. The BCC sponsors the 'Supervisor of the Year' award.
British Toilet Association
BTA runs the annual 'Loo of the Year' awards which recognise the best
'away from home' toilet facilities in all sectors. The Association also
organised the World Toilet Summit in Belfast in 2005.
Federation of Window Cleaners
The federation produced a safety video sponsored by BCC entitled 'Walk
Up, Walk Down'. This was produced to encourage safe practice within the
window cleaning industry.
Industrial Cleaning Machine Manufacturers` Association
Code of practice documents are available from ICMMA which have been
designed to give general guidance on the safe operation and use of
cleaning equipment. For anyone interested in ordering any of these

ICMMA is using sponsorship from BCC to develop further codes of
practice for industrial machinery including pressure washers and
scrubber driers.
National Carpet Cleaners Association
NCCA has received funding to introduce recognised standards to the
carpet cleaning industry. NCCA will be working closely with the British
Standards Institution to develop recognised standards.
