The BCC would like to wish its members, readers and all those involved in cleaning a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Our member Keep Britain Tidy is rolling out festive anti-litter messages which have our full support.
As organisers of the Clean Britain Awards keeping our streets clean and tidy is a cause close to our heart. The Awards, which celebrate Britain`s cleanest cities, towns and districts are reaching final stages with the climax to take place on Tuesday 13th March at the Cleaning Show, NEC, Birmingham. So stay tuned in the new year for more exciting news on this event.
Keep Britain Tidy`s latest litter campaign posters have been placed across England reminding people to use a bin. In fact, it`s Keep Britain Tidy`s logo `Tidyman` who is telling you on the posters to `Fill me this Christmas I can`t get enough` and `I`m ready and willing make me dirty`.
English councils have pledged their support by fining those who refuse to use a bin up to £80 and eleven councils are doing even more to ensure that litter louts get the message.
