The British Cleaning Council (BCC), the Voice of the UK Cleaning Industry, is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. In that time we have seen the industry grow and evolve into a professional one with over one million employees and a £12 billion turnover.
In order to celebrate the growth of the industry as well as our membership bodies, we are holding a celebration reception for all our supporters as well as those who will help to shape the future of cleaning standards and legislation.
Judith West, Chairman of the BCC said: "This celebration represents a step in the right direction for the UK industry. As the representative body for a hard working industry with loyal and long serving employees, this occasion is an opportunity to thank our supporters and convey the important issues we face to our Westminster colleagues."
The cleaning industry has grown and developed over the past 25 years and the event at Westminster signifies the development of important links with key influencers within the Government and the leading parties.
Since its set-up in 1982 the BCC has represented the cleaning industry through its membership of 19 trade associations, research, and educational training institutions from carpet cleaners to contract cleaners and from environmental campaigners to window cleaners. BCC co-owns the Cleaning Show with Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions and ploughs its funds directly back in to the improvement of cleaning standards.
The reception celebration will be hosted by Neil Turner MP, at the House of Commons in Westminster on 2nd May 2007. This prestigious event will be by invitation only and will go out to those who have supported us over our 25 years of existence. Invitations are also being sent to key MPs who have demonstrated an interest in cleaning and the environment to date.
