We may be on the brink of winter but the temperature is rising as far as our Clean Britain Award finalists are concerned.
The judges for the Awards received presentations from each of the 17 finalists at the end of September, and now it's time for the bit that all of those authorities are on the edge of their seats in anticipation of the judging visits.
The announced visits will be taking place over the next month or so, with the finalist really getting to show how worthy they are for the coveted title. Plus, next year there will also be spontaneous visits, where the eager Clean Britain Award chiefs will check out the finalist areas, unannounced.
The Clean Britain Awards is the British Cleaning Council's biennial competition that bestows a clean crown on the tidiest borough, city and district in Britain. Next year will see the first ever winners revealed, one in each category (city, district and borough) plus an overall winner. It replaces the BCC's Cleanest City competition.
