Could You be Euroclean Champion?
Asset Skills Press Release
Asset Skills, in conjunction with UK Skills, is launching the first
ever UK Skills Challenge for the cleaning industry. UK Team Clean
Challenge is a new skills competition aimed specifically at cleaning
staff. The competition will take place in October 2007 across the UK,
with the winning team going forward to represent the UK in the
Euroskills Competition being held in Rotterdam in September 2008.
A team can have members from the same or different
organisations but must consist of a manager, supervisor and two
cleaners. Each team will be set a cleaning challenge in staged area or
training room and will be given a maximum of 2 hours to complete the
tasks set. Points will be awarded for management, supervisory, cleaning
and team working skills. Individual recognition will also be given for
the best cleaner, supervisor and manager across the competition. The
only restriction to entering the competition is that the Manager and
Supervisor must be between 18 and 27 years old, but the two cleaners
can enter at any age.
Asset Skills Director of Research and Development Chris James
comments `this is a really exciting opportunity for UK organisations to
showcase on a European stage the excellent work that is being carried
out within the industry. Places are limited and we would encourage all
organisations to seriously consider putting forward a team as early as
possible to hopefully go on and represent the UK.`
A one off entry fee of £200 is payable per team to enter the
2007 competition. The winning team representing the UK at Euroskills
will have their associated costs to travel and stay in Rotterdam
covered by UK Skills.
