The British Cleaning Council (BCC) welcomes the news that Gordon Brown is calling for a `deep Clean` of all UK hospitals.
Steve Wright, BCC Chairman said: `It is great news that hospital hygiene is now high on the Government agenda. We have long called for cleanliness to be made a priority and now it seems that Mr Brown has heard our calls. Many UK hospitals fight hard to maintain clean and tidy wards, despite tight budgetary restrictions. I only hope that this spells an increase in budget for existing cleansing regimes and makes deep cleansing part of a long term solution.`
Gordon Brown`s promise, responding to rising criticism on hospital cleanliness, will mark a battle against superbugs such as MRSA. The BCC has recently called for hospital chiefs to use their expertise as the Voice of the Cleaning Industry. With over 500 years experience between them, BCC member associations are more than equipped with the relevant expertise.
Mr Brown has vowed that all hospitals will be restored to a pristine state of cleanliness in the next 12 months. Steve Wright added: `The BCC hopes that the Prime Minister is true to his word on hospital hygiene and we, as the cleaning industry experts, are always on hand to help.`
